To run the vent tube just melt the solder out, though if you are running a vented gas cap this vent tube is not needed. The tank shells are stamped from 1mm (approx. 19 ga.) steel. Check for clearance or mounting issues as different combinations of triple trees, risers, and handlebars may cause clearance issues when turning.
